Dale D. "Chubby" Hoffman, 86, formerly of Alburtis, died August 10, 2012, in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. He was the husband of Elizabeth C. (Knerr) Hoffman, also a resident at Mosser Nursing Home. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on July 6. Born in Alburtis, he was a son of the late Spencer and Katie (Weidner) Hoffman.

He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in World War II.

He was a foreman for Kline Foundry, Alburtis for many years until his retirement. Prior to that, he was a molder at Caloric Corp. at its former Topton plant.

He was an avid outdoorsman, life member of Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton and the Nimrod Fish & Wildlife Association, Alburtis.

He is survived by his wife; son, Dale D. II, Alburtis; daughter, Scarlet B. Lichtenwalner, Topton; sister, Dorine Reichert, Alburtis; grandchildren, Amber K. Knecht, Tiffany L. Hoffman, Dale D. Hoffman III, and Sarah M. Lichtenwalner; great-grandson, Colin B. Knecht.
