of Macungie

Mark Steven Lehr, 53, of Mac-ungie, died August 23, 2012, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He spent his final days surrounded by loved ones at home. He was the son of the late Howard L. and Marilyn A. (Richards) Lehr.

He took pride in everything he did including purchasing and maintaining his childhood home -- a home where he loved having campfires, walking the railroad bed and sitting on the porch on Friday nights with neighbors. He longed for warm days to go fishing or take a ride on his motorcycle.

He worked for Garnet for 10 years before they closed in 1992. Since then he worked at Precision Medical until his death.

He was a member of the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club.

He is survived by daughters, Heather L. and her husband Ryan Williams of Breinigsville; Andrea M. at home; his companion of 17 years, Diane Schellhardt of Macungie and her daughters, Melissa and her husband Justin Motz of Macungie; Kelly and her husband Lenny Alt of Blandon; Colleen Rock and her husband Jason Medeiros of Salt Lake City, Utah; grandchildren, Kaylyn Williams, Megan and Jack Motz; Bethany and Mallory Alt; brother, David at home; sisters, Cynthia of Emmaus and Christine of Allentown; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Howard "Hop," his favorite canine companion Elvin, and best feline friend Smokey.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2166 South 12th St., Allentown, 18103 or Caring Bridge at their website, www.caringbridge.com.

Arrangements were made by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Breinigsville.
