Sept. 19

The D&L Trail Alliance will host the Eastern Pennsylvania Greenways and Trails Summit Sept. 19 and 20 at the DeSales University, University Center, 2755 Station Ave., Center Valley. The summit will focus on planning, building and promoting local and regional trails and greenways across eastern Pennsylvania.

Emmaus Historical Society meeting, 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church. Evan Burian presents the history of football in Emmaus and Lehigh Valley. Apple dumplings can be ordered at this meeting, or call the museum at 610-966-6591 no later than Oct. 10. They will be available to pick up at the Oct. 17 meeting. Emmaus Historical Ghost Tales Tours will be Oct. 5, 6, 7, 12 and 13. Call the museum for information and tickets.

Sept. 21

The Quakertown Farmers Market, 201 Station Road, Quakertown, will host a winter coat drive Sept. 21 to Oct. 14. This is the 17th year of the drive and over 500 coats were distributed last year. Coats will be donated to the local Salvation Army and the Milford Square Women's and Children's Shelter.

Sept. 22

Lower Milford will host their 10th annual fall festival 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 7607 Chestnut Hill Road, Coopersburg. There will be a silent auction with over 300 items including gift baskets, culinary, craft and sport items. The event will be held rain or shine. Crafters, artisans and vendors can register for the event by calling 610-967-4949.

Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society presents their museum open house 10:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Their newest acquisitions and donations will be on display. Light refreshments will be served and the event is free to the public.

The Rodale Institute will host its 4th Annual Organic Apple Festival at their farm, 611 Siegfriedale Road, Kutztown. Visitors will be able to pick their own apples from the farm's 1,100 organic apple trees. There will be live music, farm tours, games and cider making. Emmanuel UCC Church, 16th and Chew streets, Allentown, will sponsor a penny party with the kitchen opening 5:30 p.m. and the drawing beginning 6:30 p.m. For more information, call Diane at 610-398-0258.

The Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs will host a "Paw'sta Dinner Fundraiser" 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lehigh Lodge, Route 100, Macungie. There will be a cost. For more information, call 610-349-1886.

The Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center at Kutztown University will host Harvest Fescht 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be hearth cooking, sauerkraut making, hex sign painting, wool and flax spinning demonstrations, children's activities and more.

Sept. 23

The American Heart Association will host the Lehigh Valley Heart and Stroke Walk with registration starting 8:30 a.m. and the walk beginning 10 a.m. at Northampton Community College, located at 3835 Green Pond Road., Bethlehem. The event will be pet friendly and will include a Kids Zone, live music, vendors, heart health information, a survivor area, team photos, the opportunity to pay tribute to a loved one and a T-shirt design contest.

Sept. 24

Team Megan will host a fundraiser for VisionWalk 2012 at Friendly's, 6894 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, 5 to 8 p.m. For more information, call Sue at 610-965-6796.

Sept. 25

The Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society of Upper Milford Township will host their quarterly meeting 6 p.m. in the Upper Milford Township building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. The evening will start with a covered dish supper followed by a discussion on the Shubert-Graber log cabin restoration project. Beverages and barbecue will be provided.

Sept. 27

The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. in the Upper Milford Municipal Building. The event will be a celebration of the publication of their recent book on the history of Upper Milford Township. For more information, call 610-966-4851.

The Lehigh Valley Chapter 1371 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees will conduct their monthly meeting noon in the St. Peters Lutheran Church community room, 1933 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Lunch will be served for a cost. Congressman Charlie Dent and a representative from Senator Robert Casey's office will give brief presentations. A business session will conclude the meeting.
