South Fourth Street was closed for close to two hours Sept. 28 for Salisbury police to assist the Allentown Police Department with traffic control due to a bicycle accident. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Theft from vehicle
A township owned vehicle, parked in the 1100 block of Loxley Lane, was discovered with the back doors open 6:30 a.m. Sept. 28 with close to $11,000 worth of equipment removed.
A resident in the 2800 block of Green Acres Drive reported 6:27 a.m. Oct. 4 an unknown person entered an unlocked box truck overnight and removed power tools for a loss of between $500 and $600.
A relative reported 5 p.m. Sept. 29 the removal of her mother's necklace from a home in the 1200 block of Cedar Crest Boulevard. The diamond gold necklace is worth $5,000.
A resident in the 1700 block of Broadway reported 7:15 a.m. Oct. 1 the removal of children's riding toys from the yard valued at $330.
Items were removed from an Atlantic Energy dumpster at Western Salisbury Elementary School 9:25 a.m. Oct. 1. Approximately $500 to $600 worth of recycling items were removed.
A nurse at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest reported 9:30 p.m. Sept. 29 being assaulted by Jessica Avery, 28, of Limeport. Avery allegedly slapped and bit the nurse. Avery will be charged with simple assault.
A resident in the 900 block E. Susquehanna Street reported 9:37 p.m. Sept. 30 the removal of a laptop from the home. The resident left the home around 6 p.m. and returned to find the laptop missing. The resident theorizes the intruder entered the home through a window.
Joel Hochstrasser, 28, of Allentown, was observed by police 7:58 p.m. Oct. 1 along Lehigh Street going through a red light and allegedly making a left turn into South Mall. Hochstrasser allegedly failed a field sobriety test and was transferred to Central Booking.
Francisco Velez, 56, of Bethlehem, was involved in an accident on Seidersville Road 9:31 p.m. Oct. 4. When police arrived, they found Velez in his overturned car and injured. Charges are pending for alleged DUI.
A homeowner in the 300 block of East Rock Road reported an unknown person drilled into the locks on the doors in the front and side 1:18 p.m. Oct. 3.
Police noted four or five smash marks on the glass at the Shell station, 1132 S. Cedar Crest Boulevard 8 p.m. Oct. 4. Employees said those marks happened approximately three months ago.
An 18-year-old resident in the 1600 block of Sterner Lane reported 1:30 p.m. Oct. 4 someone made fraudulent charges on his QNB debit card for a pornography site. The total losss is $98.
