CENTRAL CATHOLIC COLUMN CCHS senior week begins

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 by MICHAEL RODGERS Special to The Press in Local News

CCHS students are celebrating senior week through Oct. 26. All upperclassmen will participate in multiple activities throughout the week including: costume day, movie night and a scavenger hunt throughout the school.

Seniors also get a chance to participate in the senior olympics, a very competitive event that includes relay races and many other exciting challenges.

The CCHS Booster Club will be hosting its Viking Christmas sale 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 in Rockne Hall. All new Central Catholic spirit wear items will be available for purchase at this event. For a list of all new items, please visit the Booster Spirit Wear Link at acchs.info.

The CCHS administration is looking for parent volunteers to help monitor the library Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to allow students to use the library resources for homework and projects. For more information or to volunteer, contact Mrs. Terri Costenbater at TCostenbater@acchs.info.

The 2013 Viking Fest Committee will meet Oct 24 in the Central Catholic library. Viking Fest, Central's only special event fundraiser, will be planned and discussed. All are welcome to attend. For more information, contact Jackie Jones at jjones@acchs. info or 610-437-4601, ext 108.

CCHS underclassmen took the PSAT test Oct 10. A precursor to the SAT, the PSAT shows students' abilities in the areas of math, reading comprehension and writing. This test is very important, as a good score can result in multiple scholarship opportunities. Seniors were not required to take the test and were given a designated College Visitation Day.
