CCHS to hold 40 Hours retreat

Central Catholic will hold its 10th annual 40 Hours Retreat Nov. 8 and 9. This event takes place during school hours and fulfills one of the two retreat requirements each student must complete. A very spiritual event, 40 Hours includes many activities, such as Eucharistic Adoration, prayer sessions and a guest speaker. Parents, families, and friends are welcome to join in Adoration and the prayer service which will be held 7 to 9 p.m. Nov 8 in Masson Auditorium. The Central Catholic debate team is preparing for its first competition Nov 12. The team is led by seniors Juan Palacio, Shawn Regan, Summer Sullivan and Maddie Colaiezzi and coached by Anthony Clifford. Their first opponents have not yet been announced, but they look forward to continuing their past success in the upcoming season.

The 2012-2013 Fall Sports Award Ceremony will take place Nov. 30 in Rockne Hall. All athletes who have earned a varsity letter, as well as, each team's MVP will be recognized. The ceremony will take place after the 9:45 a.m. mass at approximately 10:45 a.m. All families and friends are welcome to attend. Also, the senior athletes and team MVP's, along with their families, are invited to a short reception in Masson Auditorium immediately following the ceremony.

Seats for the upcoming basketball season, which begins 5:30 p.m. Dec. 14 are now available for reservation. For more information and pricing, please contact the athletic office at 610-437-4601, ext. 118.

This year's Wall of Fame Inductions will be held Dec. 15 after the 3 p.m. boys JV basketball game in Rockne Hall. This year's inductees include: Rev. Frans Berkhout, Patrick Boyle '89, Jeff Aldinger '93, David Rivera '02, Jackie Adamshick '02, and the 2001 and 2002 Vikette Basketball PIAA State Championship Teams.

The boys varsity basketball game against Danville will be played immediately after this ceremony.

Parent volunteers are needed to monitor the library 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to allow students to use the library resources for homework and projects. Contact TCostenbader@ or MGeist@ to volunteer or for further information.

An open house will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 in Masson Auditorium.

Viking Spirit Wear will be on sale at the Nov. 2 football game at the school and at the Viking Christmas sale held 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 11.

Looking ahead, there will be a 12:30 dismissal Nov. 21 and school will be closed Nov. 22, 23 and 26 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
