Stirling E. Woodin Sr., 93, of Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg and formerly of Allentown, died April 29, 2013, with his family by his side. He was the husband of Amalie M. Rapp Woodin. They celebrated 63 years of marriage. Born in Gibraltar, he was the son of the late Harry and Jane Cole Woodin.

He was very gifted with languages, speaking Spanish, Italian, Portugese, and French, starting as a translator with Mack Trucks, Allentown and retiring after 37 years as export traffic manager.

He was a volunteer at Lehigh Valley Hospital for over 27 years, and founded the World Trade Club of the Lehigh Valley, where he also served as president for many years.

He was an extremely active member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Trexlertown, where he sang in the church choir and was an avid participant in the vacation bible school.

He enjoyed traveling.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Linda M. of Lawnton; daughter-in-law, Adriene Y. of Crofton, Md.; several nieces and nephews; granddog, Cody. He was predeceased by a son, Stirling E. Jr.; three brothers, Harold, Arthur and John; sister, Margaret Pardy.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18, in St. Anne's Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road, Trexlertown. Friends will be received by the family following the service. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home Inc., Hummelstown is handling the arrangements.
