EASTERN SALISBURY COLUMN Readers are encouraged to join their WSE fourth grader for lunch Jan. 13
I would like to start off with a warm welcome to our new superintendent of Salisbury Township School District, Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss. I ran into him over the winter break and mentioned we will now hear his voice on the phone when there is a snow day. His response, with a smile, was there will not be any. Let's see if his prediction comes true, because I would not mind ending the school year June 5.
If you have a fourth grader at Western Salisbury Elementary, Jan. 13 is a big day. It is "Eat with Your Student Day!" I always loved those days of bringing in Subway sandwiches or Mickey D's and hanging out with my son and his friends. Don't miss out on this fun day.
The WSE PTA will host a family night 5 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16 at Chick-fil-A. As you have heard from me before, please watch your children at these events. Do not let them run wild. There are other patrons in the restaurant and we want to be a good example and display our Leader in Me qualities.
The end of the second marking period for Salisbury High School and Salisbury Middle School is scheduled Jan. 16. Wow, halfway through the school year already!
If parents of seniors want to submit a baby picture for the school yearbook, the deadline is Jan. 30. Please visit the high school website for a document and link to find out more information.
All Salisbury Township schools will be closed Jan. 19 for a teacher professional development day.
There is a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Jan. 14 in the administration building.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will host a monthly breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. Jan. 10. A donation is suggested. Proceeds benefit the 275th anniversary celebration at the church.
