Wednesday, April 29, 2015 by REBECCA FOEHRKOLB Special to The Press in Columns

Now that the PSSA tests are finally over, the high school will start the Keystone exams.

Not every student takes each test, so make sure you know if and when your student needs to report to school. The algebra exam is May 13 and 14. Biology is May 18 and 19. Literature is May 20 and 21. If your student is taking the exam, they need to be at school at the regular start time. If they are not taking the exam, they need to be at school two and a half hours late May 13 and two hours late May 14, 18, 19, 20 and 21. Buses will run for both times. Good luck everyone.

Mid-marking for the fourth quarter is May 11. The end of the year is in sight.

The Salisbury High School spring choral and instrumental concert will be May 12 in the high school auditorium. The high school and middle school art show will have an opening night 6 to 8 p.m. May 13 at the high school.

The middle school spring concert will be 7 p.m. May 6.

Western Salisbury's spring concert featuring third grade and the chorus will be 2 p.m. May 4 in the gym.

Weather permitting, field day for students in first and second grades at Western Salisbury Elementary School will be 1:30 to 3 p.m. May 7. Make sure your student is dressed for the weather and wears sneakers.

A school board operations committee meeting will be held 7 p.m. May 4 in the administration building. This will be the public presentation of the proposed 2015-2016 final budget.

The monthly school board meeting will be 7:30 May 13 also in the administration building.

Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will host the monthly breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. May 9. A donation is suggested, with all proceeds to benefit the 275th anniversary celebration. Jerusalem Church will also hold a community yard sale 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 2 on the church grounds. Hot dogs, baked goods and drinks will be available for purchase.

The Devonshire yard waste drop-off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 2 and 5.

I am a huge fan of the Anne of Green Gables books and television specials. My favorite actor from the mini-series passed away this past week, so today I share a quote from him. "I won't change, that's the least I can promise you." Gilbert Blythe, Anne of Avonlea
