Salisbury High School Key Club bowls for breath
The Salisbury High School Key Club hosted a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation called, “Bowl for Breath” 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Playdrome Rosebowl. 801 North, 15th St., Allentown.
Money raised will benefit local cystic fibrosis patients.
Katie Hutchinson, Key Club advisor and emotional support teacher at Salisbury High School, supervised the event.
“We’ve been doing this for five or six years,” Hutchinson said. A previous student of Hutchinson’s and cystic fibrosis patient named Alexandria, prompted her to organize Key Club fundraisers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
“The cool thing is that every time we do this event, I think of her.” Hutchinson said. Alexandria is now 27 years old and the two still keep in touch.
This fundraiser held special meaning for ninth grade Key Club member Abby Correll. Her two younger siblings, Savannah and Damien, have cystic fibrosis. Juan and Connie Tucker, her mom and stepfather, were thrilled to be there to support the cause. “I love it! I’m all for it,” Connie Tucker said.
