Second annual community breakfast to be held Nov. 19

The second annual community breakfast at Salisbury High School will be held 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 19. Breakfast is free of charge; however, reservations are required at stsd.org/breakfast no later than Nov. 15. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and juice.

It is officially that time of year, we are in the second quarter for the school year. Not sure about you, but for me, this one flies by because of all the holidays and days off.

Here is a glimpse into the upcoming early dismissals and days off.

Beginning Nov. 17 through Nov. 23, Harry S Truman Elementary School and Western Salisbury Elementary School will dismiss 1 p.m for parent teacher conferences. Salisbury Middle School will dismiss 12:15 p.m. Nov. 18 through Nov. 23. SHS will dismiss 12:15 p.m. Nov. 18 and Nov. 23.

All Salisbury Township schools will be closed Nov. 24 through 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Schools will reopen Nov. 29.

SMS will hold parent teacher conferences 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 21 and 22. Look for information to be sent home with your student.

On Dec. 1, SHS will hold its annual winter choral and instrumental concert beginning 7 p.m.

The Franko Farm yard waste drop off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 22, 26 and 29. There will only be one remaining weekend the drop off site is open for the year.

Starting Nov. 14, the Salisbury Township Public Works Department will continue to pick up the next round of leaf collection. One crew will be in the Gauff’s Hill area (Summit Street, Weil Street, Public Road areas) working toward Salisbury High School. The second crew will be working on West Rock Road and will continue working in the mountain road areas.
