Early dismissal for elementary schools Feb. 24

Feb. 22 will be a curriculum and technology committee meeting 7 p.m. at Salisbury High School

Mid-marking period for the middle and high schools for the third quarter is Feb. 22.

Both Harry S Truman Elementary and Western Salisbury Elementary schools will dismiss 1 p.m. Feb. 24.

On Feb. 27 HST will kick off its Cops & Kids reading program. New and gently used books can be donated to the program. Book donations can be dropped off at the school between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on school days.

March is right around the corner. The first T-shirt day at HST will be March 2. This will also be favorite character day. Truman students are encouraged to dress as their favorite character in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday.

On March 6, HST will hold the second grade invitation to lunch. Look for more information to be sent home with your second grader.

The next HST PTO meeting will be 7 p.m. March 6.

March 6 is also an operations committee meeting 7 p.m. in the administration building.

Looking forward, please note all Salisbury Township schools will be closed March 10 for a professional development day. Parent/teacher conferences for HST and WSE are also quickly approaching. Look for information to be sent home with your child soon.

A Salisbury Township recreation committee meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 in the township municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave.

Salisbury Township is running a bus trip to the Amish Experience in Lancaster May 6. The ticket includes the Amish Experience tour to the Amish House and School, viewing of the Film “Jacobs Choice” at the Plain and Fancy, a family-style lunch at the Fulton Steamboat Inn and a show at the American Music Theatre called “Vegas Legends.” The non-refundable cost is payable by cash, check or money order and payment is due at the time of registration.
