The drone allows the operator and other personnel to get a bird’s eye view of an emergency scene or conduct a search over open areas quickly and efficiently.
The drone can be outfitted with one of two cameras, one like a regular lens which provides clean crisp images and videos and the other lens provides a variety of thermal settings to be used during the day and night. The new operators learned about common flight restrictions, limitations of the drone, how to assemble the drone for flight and controller use.
Under supervision of a DJI instructor, the class moves outside to get time flying the drone and using the cameras. See additional photos on Page A2.

The class is shown two-person control where the operator only maneuvers the drone and the second person controls the camera.
