Old folkies: “Lonesome Traveler,” the concert version of the Off-Broadway musical that the New York Times called “illuminating … revelatory … and ... achingly beautiful,” will be presented at 8 p.m. Feb. 3, State Theatre Center for the Arts, Easton. Peter Yarrow, of Peter, Paul & Mary, appears in the show. The show celebrates the music of folk artists. including Woody Guthrie, Lead Belly, Pete Seeger, Gordon Lightfoot, Peter, Paul and Mary, Bob Dylan, as well as The Byrds, Donovan, Cat Stevens, Don McLean, James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Leonard Cohen. Costumes and multimedia projections augment the concert of duets, patriotic songs, church hymns, union anthems and protest songs from the 1920s to the 1960s. That ‘70s’ music: “Abba Mania,” the original tribute show from London’s West End, returns at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2 to the State Theatre Center for The Arts, Easton. “Abba Mania” recreates the hit pop group’s last concert. Seven performers and musicians are in the show, which since 1999 has toured North and South America and Europe. The annual August concert in Berlin routinely attracts more than 20,000 people.
