Thomas Pelzer, 81, of Macungie, died Sept. 6, 2018, in the St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Carole A. (Sweet) Pelzer. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Lawrence Pelzer and Mildred (Flannigan) Pelzer.

He was a graduate of Germantown High School, Class of 1955.

He served in the Army from 1958 to 1962 during the Berlin Crisis.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved spending time at the shore in Sea Isle City, N.J.

He was a tractor trailer driver for A&P for over 20 years, retiring in 1999. He serviced stores in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church, Emmaus.

He is survived by children: David W. and his wife Colleen, of Skippack, Ruth A. and her husband Patrick Dulaney, of Allentown and Lauren G., of Dresher; grandchildren: Kylie, Kelly, Kristen, Logan and Joshua; sister, Jane B. Smith, of Hatboro.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 14 in the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Call 10 to 11 a.m. Sept. 14 in the funeral home.
