of Emmaus

Betty L. (Heffner) Stump, 85, of Emmaus, died Dec. 29, 2018, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where she was a patient since Christmas Day. She was the wife of the late Roger S. Stump, who died Dec. 4, 1992 and the longtime companion of Ron Kaspern. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Percy P. and Verna (Mest) Heffner.

She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.

She worked for the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis, for 17 years, and the former Emmaus Shirt Factory, Emmaus, for 17 years, until her retirement. After retirement, she was a nanny and babysitter for 14 years.

She was a member of the Emmaus and Alburtis Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed baking, crocheting and gardening. In her younger years, she and her husband enjoyed traveling the east coast on their motorcycle.

She is survived by a daughter, Sheila A. Long, companion of Phil Litschke, of Emmaus; sons, Kevin R. and his wife Karen M. (Lucas), of East Texas, Steve I. and his wife Michelle (Vanderslice), of Oley; sister, Faye (Heffner) Barto, of Macungie; brothers, Carl Heffner, of Allentown and Paul Heffner, of Kutztown; four grandchildren Tyler Stump, Jackie Kline, Stacy Romberger and Tara Bock; four step-grandchildren, Andy Scott, Nicole Scott, Emily Yordt and Ben Scott; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Anthony, Jacob, Willow and Riley; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Korbin, Parker and Brielle. She was predeceased by sisters, Jean (Heffner) Miller and Goldie (Heffner) Carl; brother, Lee Heffner.
