Salisbury’s Jonah Niesenbaum competed in the PIAA Class 2A Wrestling Championships last weekend at Hershey’s Giant Center.

Niesenbaum, who finished in third place in District 11 and took third at the PIAA Southeast Regional, opened the state tournament with a loss by fall to Eisenhower’s Joseph Bauer, the second-place finisher out of the Northwest Region.

The Duke University-bound Falcon senior won his first consolation match, a 3-0 decision over Joey King of Maplewood, the fourth-place finisher from the Northwest Region.

Niesenbaum’s tournament ended in the second round of consolations when he dropped a 9-4 decision to Tyrone Fowler of Bishop McDevitt, the fifth-place finisher from the Southeast.

Niesenbaum ends his season at 31-8.
