‘We’ve got your back’ helps students feel supported

The Salisbury High School AEVIDUM club encouraged students to wear yellow May 16 to promote Stopping the Stigma and creating a Community of Care. The goal of this club is to make sure everyone at SHS feels supported. In order to promote the idea of “We’ve got your back,” the club passed out yellow smiley face stickers and wrote the name of every student and staff at SHS on paper hands, which were displayed in SHS’s hallways. Students interested in joining AEVIDUM should email Mrs. Legath.

May is mental health awareness month. Members of SHS’s Students Taking Active Roles passed out “Don’t be afraid to talk about mental health” cards to students May 17. STARs also sent out a flyer with statistics about the mental health of young adults.

Congratulations to all of the SHS Colonial League All-Stars. Peyton Stauffer and Emily Silberm n were selected to be on the 1st team for softball and Quinn Warmkessel was selected to be on the 1st team for baseball.

There is a tennis interest meeting May 20, a cross country interest meeting May 22, a golf interest meeting May 30 and a field hockey interest meeting May 30. Make sure you check the schedule to know when to attend a sports interest meeting.

Fall athletic physicals are being held at SHS June 5. Girls physicals begin 5 p.m. and boys physicals begin 6:30 p.m. Students should arrive 15 minutes early and must have parent or guardian consent in order to have a physical. Check the schedule to know what time to report for your physical.
