Standards in jazz: The Erich Cawalla Quartet performance of “The Great American Songbook,” 7:30 p.m. March 20, in the “Jazz Upstairs” series, Rodale Community Room, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown, was canceled. The quartet is Erich Cawalla, vocals, saxophone; Steve Rudolph, piano; Bennie Sims, bass, and Marko Marcinko, drums. Cawalla was expected to perform selections from his debut CD, “Erich Cawalla ... The Great American Songbook,” to be released March 25, featuring the original song, “Life’s About Forgiving.” The album’s musicians include Grammy-winning trumpet legend Randy Brecker, Village Vanguard drummer John Riley and Philadelphia saxophone legend Larry McKenna.
