Trains and flowers at the Lehigh Valley Flower and Garden Show

A model train display decorated with flowers was an attraction for visitors of all ages at the Lehigh Valley Flower and Garden Show in the Agri-Plex Hall at the Allentown Fairgrounds.

Group to meet April 2

The Civil War Round Table of Eastern Pennsylvania will be hosting historian and re-enactor Dick Simpson April 2 at Day's Inn, 3400 Airport Road, Allentown.

He will be discussing "Vermont Brigade at Gettysburg."

Dinner will be 6:30 p.m. Program at 7:30 p.m.

Reservations are required for the dinner and must be made by March 28.

There is a fee for both the dinner and program.

of Emmaus

Michael Allen 'Mike" Dilcher, 56, of Emmaus, died March 11, 2013, in his home. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Warren J. and Doris M. (Ernst) Dilcher.

For 25 years, he served as bar manager and recording secretary for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Allentown. Previously, he was an assembler at Mack Trucks Inc. for 10 years.

He was an avid pool player.

Lebanon Valley College

Justin Weilnau, of Allentown, was selected as a peer mentor at Lebanon Valley College. A peer mentor is an undergraduate student that guides a group of 15 to 20 new or transfer students during their first semester at the college. Weilnau is a senior music and biochemistry and molecular biology major and graduate of Salisbury Township High School.
