In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, students at Harry S Truman Elementary School enjoyed various activities to celebrate reading.
Kevin Stumpp, 25, of Allentown, was arrested for DUI on Emmaus Avenue at 31st Street, Allentown, 11:19 p.m. Feb. 22. Stumpp was stopped for multiple equipment violations and was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Richard Spencer Jr., 35, of Reading, was arrested for DUI, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Interstate 78 eastbound at exit 55, Salisbury Township, 12:15 p.m. Feb. 24. Spencer was stopped for an equipment violation and was allegedly found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
With the Lenten season upon us, I have heard folks discussing what they might give up between Ash Wednesday and Easter.
One man joked that as he has aged, he's had to give up so much, he has nothing left to sacrifice.
That comment brought to mind a couple in their 70s, friends of ours, who no longer travel because they say packing all their medications and medical devices is too much trouble.
An "Entrepreneurial Communities; Increasing Regional Prosperity through Entrepreneurism" seminar will be held April 12 at the Fowler Center, South Bethlehem.
The speaker for the all day event is Dr. Michael Fortunato, research associate and lecturer at Penn State University. Four local individuals will discuss how they get input about needs from entrepreneurs and what challenges they encounter.

Western Salisbury Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday March 1 with many reading activities throughout the school.
Salisbury Township is running a bus trip to Atlantic City, N.J. June 9.
The ticket includes transportation, a one-hour Back Bay Cruise, followed by a lunch buffet at the Resorts Casino and a coin package for slot play. Time for shopping and the enjoyment of the Atlantic City Boardwalk is also provided.
The cost is non-refundable and payable by cash, check or money order. Payment is due at the time of registration.
