Can you believe that the first day of school is fast approaching?
The Salisbury Recreation Advisory Committee met July 15 and discussed the Community Day event activities.
The committee held the event 5-8 p.m. July 16 at Salisbury Middle School.
The discussion centered on wrapping up the last minute details.

Western Salisbury Elementary School will host a new family welcome 9:30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 15. Any family new to the building, whether the student is in kindergarten or first through fifth grade, is welcome to come and meet some staff, tour the building and find out how things work at WSE. Come on down!
The Salisbury Township School District website is currently under construction. The basics are there, but some items are still missing. It really looks different. When it is finished, I will be taking some time to explore so I know where everything is located.
Have you ever taken your children to a live theater performance? DeSales University has one of the best children’s theaters in the Lehigh Valley. I used to take my boys there every summer and they loved it. Children have the option to sit in a regular seat or on the carpet surrounding the stage. After every performance, the actors come to the foyer for photos and autographs. This year they are performing “The Adventures of Robin Hood and Maid Marian.” Showtimes are 10 a.m. Tuesday-Saturday at the Schubert Theatre. Visit www.pashakespeare.org to purchase tickets.
Still looking for something to do with your kids this summer? The Wildlands Conservancy in Emmaus does not disappoint. They have five-day camps, one-day camps, hikes, animal observations and much more. Some items are free, some have a fee, but most of them you must register for on their website. So check out all they have to offer at wildlandspa.org.
The Salisbury Township School District will hold open library hours throughout the summer. The first one on the schedule will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. June 26 at Salisbury Middle School. Any Salisbury student from kindergarten through eighth grade may come and check out books. Books for all ages will be available and all books will be due in September.
