Colonial League is seeking expansion

Wednesday, March 27, 2013 by ROD HECKMAN in HS Sports

Change is a way of life.

And if the Colonial League gets its wish, there will be some major changes in the near future.

At a meeting of athletic directors and principals Tuesday at Catasauqua, it was unanimously decided to invite two "bigger" schools to join their league.

The invitations went out Wednesday.

Bryan Geist, Northern Lehigh's AD and vice president of the Colonial League, wouldn't release the names of the schools, but it was reported Tuesday night that both schools were from the Mountain Valley Conference.

Dee has weekend to remember at districts

Throughout his career, Anthony Dee has wrestled countless times on Saturdays.

But it's probably safe to say the Salisbury senior never had a weekend like the past one at Liberty High School.

The 126-pounder not only advanced to the Southeast Class 2A Regionals with a third-place finish at districts, but he also gained his 100th victory in the process. If that wasn't enough, Dee was also named the winner of the District 11 Officials Scholarship.
