March is officially here, and that means spring is just around the corner (hopefully!).
Salisbury High School Theatre will present its spring play, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” 7 p.m. March 9 through 11 and 3 p.m. March 12. Tickets can be reserved by calling Cherie Pennella at 610-797-4107, ext. 2508 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please remember all Salisbury Township schools will be closed March 10 for a professional development day.
Feb. 22 will be a curriculum and technology committee meeting 7 p.m. at Salisbury High School
Mid-marking period for the middle and high schools for the third quarter is Feb. 22.
Both Harry S Truman Elementary and Western Salisbury Elementary schools will dismiss 1 p.m. Feb. 24.
On Feb. 27 HST will kick off its Cops & Kids reading program. New and gently used books can be donated to the program. Book donations can be dropped off at the school between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on school days.
The Harry S Truman Elementary School PTO will hold a clearance night in the school library for family members of an HST student to complete their necessary clearances 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 8. Anyone interesting in volunteering at the school must have clearances.
A school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in the administration building.
HST class photo day will be Feb. 13.
Just a reminder. On Jan. 27, all Salisbury Township School District schools will have an early dismissal. However, it is opposite dismissal than usual. Harry S Truman and Western Salisbury elementary schools will dismiss 11:15 a.m. while Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury High School will dismiss 12:15 p.m.
On Jan. 30, there will be a curriculum and technology meeting 7 p.m. at HST.
Feb. 2 will be the next T-shirt day at HST. Remember to show off your Falcon Pride!
There will be an operations committee meeting in the administration building 7 p.m. Feb. 6.

Jan. 18 marks the end of the second marking period for the middle and high schools. Hard to believe the year is at its halfway point.
Harry S Truman Elementary School will present its annual fourth and fifth grade band and chorus concert 2 p.m. Dec. 15. This is always a great performance. If you are able to attend, I highly recommend it! The snow date, should we need it, will be 2 p.m. Dec. 20.
Dec. 16 will be Heavenly Hats Day at HST. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite hat. They are asked to bring in any amount of change to donate to the Heavenly Hats Foundation. This foundation collects and distributes new hats to those who have lost their hair due to cancer or other medical conditions.
Thanksgiving is officially behind us and we are now into the crazy Christmas and holiday season. December, for me anyway, always seems to fly by in the blink of an eye. This year will be no exception.
The annual Harry S Truman Elementary School PTO Holiday Shoppe will run through Dec. 2. Students have received a scheduled time for their classrooms to shop. There are also evening hours for parents to take their children 6 to 8 p.m.
Salisbury High School will hold its annual winter choral and instrumental concert 7 p.m. Dec. 1.
The sights and sounds of autumn are finally all around us. Now that it is October, I am enjoying everything pumpkin I can get my hands on….yes, I’m one of “those” people. The weather is getting cooler and its almost time for those little ghosts and goblins to be walking though our streets, although these days costumes are much more complex.
Harry S Truman Elementary School will have parent visitation 1:30 to 3 p.m. Oct. 20. Look for information to be sent home with your students.
A school board meeting is scheduled 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the administration building.
It’s finally October and the weather is great. I’m so ready for the sweaters, boots, oh and everything pumpkin – yes, I’m one of those people.
The school district is also getting busy as all the fall activities are kicking into gear.
Harry S Truman Elementary School will hold the annual height, weight and vision screenings for all students Oct. 6.
Salisbury Middle School will hold a parent visitation day Oct. 7.
The police K-9 trials scheduled for Sept. 25 at the high school stadium are being postponed to an undetermined date in spring 2017, due to unexpected circumstances.
Harry S Truman Elementary School will hold its open house for parents of students in kindergarten through second grade 7 to 8:15 p.m. Sept. 22. Come out and meet the teachers and learn about what is in store for this school year.
