School starts Aug. 29 and 30

Thursday, August 25, 2016 by SARAH TAKACS in Columns

By the time my column is read, we will be less than a week away from the first day of school.

I’m already feeling the effects of preparing to send my youngest on the bus for the first time – and yes, I’m a nervous wreck. But I have confidence that along with all the other kindergarten parents we can get through this.

The first day of school for students in grades kindergarten, sixth and ninth is Aug. 29. All students report Aug. 30. Please keep in mind, all Salisbury Township School District schools will be closed Sept. 2 through 5 for the Labor Day holiday.

Hoping everyone is having a fun but safe summer so far.

Happy June! We are in the home stretch of school, which is often bittersweet. Graduation is right around the corner. Good luck and best wishes to the class of 2016! May you succeed in whatever direction life takes you.

The last few weeks of school always seem to be filled with activities. This year is no exception.
