PUBLIC NOTICE INVITATION TO BID THE CATASAUQUA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT will receive sealed bids in the District Administration Office, 201 North 14th Street, Catasauqua, PA 18032, until 11:00 AM (prevailing time), Monday, February 4, 2019, for LAWN MOWING AND RELATED SERVICES for three (3) mowing seasons in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Bids will be publicly opened at the District Administration Office and read aloud immediately following the deadline for receipt. PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby provided pursuant to Sections 609(b)(1) and 610(a) of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning code, as amended, 53 P.S. §§ 10609(b)(1) and 10610 (hereinafter, "MPC"), that the Borough Council of the Borough of Catasauqua (hereinafter, "Council") will hold a public hearing on Monday, February 4, 2019, commencing at 7:00 P.M., at Borough Hall, located at 90 Bridge Street, Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, for the purpose of taking public comment and input concerning the adoption of an amendment to the Borough of Catasauqua Zoning Ordinance. The Ordinance amends the Official Zoning Map to change the zoning district classification of a 5.62 acre portion of a parcel of land owned by the Catasauqua Area School District (CASD) located west of and along North 14TH Street from Conservation (CN) to Medium Density Residential (R-2). Council will consider passage of the Ordinance at a public meeting on Monday, February 4, 2019, to be held immediately after the hearing and commencing at 7:00 P.M. at Borough Hall located at 90 Bridge Street, Catasauqua, Pennsylvania. Copies of the Ordinance have been delivered to the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission and the Borough of Catasauqua Planning Commission for comment pursuant to applicable law. The following is a summary of the contents of the Ordinance, prepared by the Solicitor pursuant to Section 610(a) of the MPC, as amended, 53 P.S. §10610(a). The title of the proposed Ordinance is: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BOROUGH OF CATASAUQUA ZONING ORDINANCE BY AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO CHANGE THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF AN APPROXIMATE 5.62 ACRE PORTION OF THE LANDS OF THE CATASAUQUA AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT LOCATED WEST OF AND ALONG NORTH 14TH STREET FROM CONSERVATION (CN) TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (R-2)." The Ordinance contains a statement of legislative findings and a savings clause and repeals inconsistent ordinances. It becomes effective upon enactment and mayoral approval, or as otherwise specified in the Borough Code. The Ordinance amends the Official Zoning Map to change the zoning district classification of a 5.62 acre portion of a larger parcel of land owned by the CASD and located west of, and along, North 14th Street from Conservation (CN) to Medium Density Residential (R-2). Attached to the Ordinance are a legal description of the subject land, a plat plan and an excerpt from the Official Zoning Map depicting the proposed change. An easement area will be reserved through the subject property to provide for a future connection to 14th Street for a cycling/walking trail.
