Do not admit book salesman into your home

Acting Superintendent Dr. Louise Beauchemin informed parents Aug. 3 of a book salesman going to homes posing as a representative of local school districts. The district has received calls from several parents that this man came to their home saying he was connected to the Salisbury Township School District and wanted to sell books connected to the district curriculum.

A team is about more than just wins and losses

Philadelphia Eagles fans have dealt with ups and downs on the football field.

The death of 29-year-old Garrett Reid, the son of Andy Reid, the longest tenured coach in the NFL today, was shocking and sobering news.

John Reynard likely candidate in 134th election

John Reynard, of Emmaus, has been chosen by the Lehigh County Democratic Committee as the candidate to face Ryan Mackenzie, R-134th, in the November election.

Berks County is expected to approve Reynard in a poll vote and the state party's executive committee is expected to make a decision this week to secure Reynard's place on the ballot in November.

Reynard sat down with The Press Aug. 6 to discuss his background, qualifications and goals for the 134th district.

Allentown man arrested in Salisbury Township homicide

Jonathan Nunez, 20, of Allentown, was arrested for the homicide of a Whitehall Township woman found murdered July 5 in the 2700 block of Lanze Lane, Salisbury Township.

Kimberly Cardona, 20, was found dead with numerous injuries to her head, face, neck, hands, legs and torso. Lehigh County Coroner Scot Grim said Cardona died from blunt force trauma to head and sharp force trauma to the neck.
