Swain School students design, build Lego robots for Mars mission project

Eighth grade students at Swain School have been involved in a science project their grandparents probably could not even have imagined in their grade school experience a few generations ago.

Using advanced Lego building kits with servomotors which can be programmed for movements on a simulated Mars surface landscape, the students have emulated NASA's Mars Rover mission to the distant red planet.

Air Force

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Sean M. Knaus graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Knaus is the son of Gregory and Leeanne Knaus, of Wescosville.
