Officials explore updating of development 'Bible'

Where's SALDO?

SALDO, the acronym for the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance, the township's "Bible" of development, which is being updated, is wending its way through the Salisbury Township Planning Commission review process.

Township planners, along with Director of Planning and Zoning Cynthia Sopka, discussed the 92-page SALDO, which is divided into Parts 1 through 12, plus Appendices.

Atty. John W. Ashley, township Board of Commissioners and Planning Commission solicitor, reviewed the SALDO's wording and raised concerns at the Dec. 11 meeting.

Q: What is heartburn?

A: Heartburn is often described as a feeling of burning discomfort, localized behind the breastbone, which moves up toward the neck and throat. Some people even experience the bitter or sour taste of acid in the back of the throat. These symptoms of heartburn can last for several hours and often worsen after eating food. All of us may have occasional heartburn.

Students present Christmas play

St. Thomas More fifth and sixth graders presented their annual Christmas play Dec. 11 for all students, and then again on that evening for the public in the school's auditorium-gymnasium.

The play, titled "Is There Room for Christmas?" was scripted and choreographed with original lyrics and music by Natalie Seng Pionegro, director of music and liturgy for St. Thomas More parish and school.

The play portrays the concept of looking beyond the distractions in our daily lives, no matter how attractive those things may be, and finding the real meaning of Christmas.
