Walk, fun day Sept. 28

The Eastern Pa. Down Syndrome Center will be hosting the 14th annual Lehigh Valley Buddy Walk and Family Fun Day to promote acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down Syndrome 2 to 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at Valley Preferred Cycling Center and Rodale Park, Breinigsville.

There will be activities for children, raffle, live music as well as the Buddy Walk.

Process will benefit the Eastern Pa. Down Syndrome Center.

Annual picnic Aug. 23

The Emmaus Farmers Market annual family picnic will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Arts Pavilion at Emmaus Community Park. All of the food will be provided by the market vendors, featuring grilled meats and vegetables, a full spread of vegan organic dishes, desserts and beverages.

The Emmaus Public Singing Society will provide the music and activities for kids. Tickets are available by emailing info@emmausmarket.com.

Clydesdales to support MPU

The Budweiser Clydesdale horses will be visiting in September to support the Bethlehem Police Department's Mounted Patrol Unit. The MPU will be selling paper horseshoes for entries into a drawing for a Budweiser gift pack and a six pack of tickets to the AAA National Championship Game Sept. 17 at Coca-Cola Park.

50s reunion set for Sept. 22

Liberty High School graduates' fourth annual Fabulous 50s reunion will be held beginning noon Sept. 22. The event, for all classes from 1950 through 1959, takes place at Silver Creek Athletic Association, 2943 Route #212, Springtown.

The Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club will help you prepare for your FCC test to earn your amateur radio license and begin the enjoyment of talking on the radio with other amateur radio operators locally and around the world. Lehigh Valley Health Network's Via Marathon will be held Sept. 7 and 8 at ArtsQuest Center, Steel Stacks, 101 Founder's Way. There will be races for all abilities and ages. Events and start times are: 5K run 7:30 a.m.; Via walk 9 a.m.; kids's race 10:30 a.m.; Sept. 7 and marathon, 7 a.m.; team relay, 7 a.m.; and the half marathon, 7:15 a.m.; Sept. 8.

Community Day planned

Eastern Salisbury Fire Department will host a Community Day 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17. This will be an event where the community can come and take tours of the firehouse, meet many different types of first responders (including police, firefighters, EMS personnel and many others), explore the vehicles used and have fun. Concert set for Aug. 22

The Wilhelm Brothers will perform 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 22 at Allentown Public Library, 1210 Hamilton St., Allentown.

This Asheville, N.C. group combines the singer, songwriter talents of Chris Wilhelm with the sonic beauty and skill of cellist Cristof Ensslin.

Their sound emphasizes love of a good story delivered in song and employs folk, roots and indie influences.
