Scholarship app deadline April 10

The Allentown Music Club is offering a $1,000 past president's assembly scholarship to a high school senior who resides in Lehigh or Northampton counties. The student must be accepted at an accredited institution and be pursuing music performance. The application deadline is April 10. Accepting new members

The Military Nursing Corps of Pennsylvania, VFW Post 12099, is welcoming veterans with service in overseas conflicts.

Current members of Post 12099 have proudly served in every conflict from World War II to active status in the global war on terror.

Post 12099, headquartered in the Gen. Charles C. Curtis National Guard Armory, 1501 Allen St., Allentown, and meets 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.

Veteran's discharge paper (DD214), or if active duty, a letter from their commanding officer, is required to determine eligibility for VFW membership.

Discussion set for April 4

How can a small business navigate through all the available hardware and software options and develop the right solution that won't break the bank?

On April 4, the Lehigh Valley Chapter of SCORE will offer the sixth in a series of free informal "Round Table" discussions on topics of interest to small business owners, this one focusing on developing an affordable IT strategy for your small business.

The Roundtable discussion which will be facilitated by a SCORE member, will be held 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts, 3670 MacArthur Road, Whitehall.

Class of 2016

The Salisbury High School Class of 2016 will hold "Salisbury's Got Talent" 7:30 p.m. March 26 at the school. Local renowned singer and songwriter and district employee Scott Marshall will be guest performing with Salisbury's top talents at the show. Doors open 7:15 p.m.

The show will include a dozen acts of Salisbury's finest. There is a charge. Profits benefit the Class of 2016. Show your support for very talented students and staff at Salisbury.

Conference set for April 12

Penn State Extension is sponsoring an Entrepreneurial Communities; Increasing Regional Prosperity through Entrepreneurism, all day conference April 12, at the Fowler Center in South Bethlehem.

Dr. Michael Fortunato, research associate and lecturer at Penn State University, will be the speaker.

His topic is "Improving Entrepreneur's Success: What is Working in Communities?"

Easter egg hunt March 23

The Salisbury Recreation Advisory Committee is hosting an Easter egg hunt for Salisbury children ages five to 10 at Lindberg Park 10 a.m. March 23. Emanuel UCC observing Daffodil Sunday

American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days will be observed March 21 to 23 by Emanuel United Church of Christ, 1547 Chew St., Allentown.

For the past 39 years, the daffodil, the first flower of spring, has been the symbol of the American Cancer Society.

Each year, throughout the Lehigh Valley, there are displays of daffodils at work, in schools, homes and places of worship.

Daffodil Days sells a bunch of 10 daffodils, a vase of hope with daffodils, as well as a new collectable Boyd's Bear with daffodils and mini potted daffodils.

Annual book sale donations sought

The American Association of University Women will accept book donations 9 a.m. to noon March 20 through April 15 and and an additional dropoff 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays.

The items will be sold at the AAUW used book sale 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 24 to 26 and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 27. Preview Day is 2 to 6 p.m. April 23.

The donation dropoff and book sale location is the Memorial Pool Building, 307 Illick's Mill Road, Bethlehem.

March 14 prom gowns needed

The YWCA of Bethlehem is seeking donations for its annual Prom Dress Day Event which will be held March 23 at the State Theatre, Easton. The event provides gently-used prom gowns to local high school juniors and seniors to alleviate the financial hardship of prom on girls and their families.
