Penn State political forum offers a window into the views of local legislators

The Penn State Lehigh Valley Political Society and Student Government Association sponsored a "Meet Your Legislator Event" at the Center Valley Campus Oct. 11.

State Senator Lisa Boscola, D-18th, State Representative Gary Day, R-187th, and State Representative Justin Simmons, R-131st, attended the event to speak to students and answer questions about state policy.

Happy Halloween! Trick or treat will be held in Salisbury Township 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 26. DevonHouse Senior Living will also host their traditional safe trick or treat inside their lobby area for the young children in the neighborhood.

Western Salisbury and Harry S Truman elementary schools will have their Halloween parades 2 to 3 p.m. Oct. 26. Oct. 31 is the end of the first marking period at Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury High School.

'Souled on Motown' coming to L. Macungie Middle School

The Macungie Minstrelaires will present their annual family musical variety show with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the East Penn Angel Network.

"Souled on Motown" celebrates the hit songs of top Motown artists including The Four Tops, The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Jackson 5 and more.

SCOUTING FOR FOOD

Boy Scouts and volunteers from the local Minsi Trails Boy Scout Council will be out Nov. 10 collecting nonperishable food for the annual Scouting For Food community food drive. Door hangers were delivered throughout many area neighborhoods last Saturday letting residents know about the food drive.

Last year Scouting For Food brought in nearly 200,000 pounds of food for local food banks. That is enough food to feed over 8,000 people for a week. The Scout's are celebrating their 26th...
