The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is accepting applications for May through August employment for students and government service interns. Applicants must have a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, must be 18 years old and must be enrolled in in college for the fall 2013 semester. Submissions must be received by the close of the business day Feb. 22.

Roger C. Reis said he is seeking re-election to his seat on the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners.

Animal attack

On Feb. 4, police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Pearl Avenue Feb. 4 to investigate a 911 call for a female screaming for help. Upon arrival, patrol officers found a female who was attacked, bitten and knocked to the ground by an aggressive pit bull in her front yard.
