Cedar Crest Boulevard accident sends two to hospital

Firefighters from Western Salisbury Fire Department, along with two medic units from Cetronia ambulance, respond to a reported motorcycle accident on Cedar Crest Boulevard at the on-ramp to Interstate 78 east in Salisbury Township shortly before 7a.m. Aug. 7. The accident, involving a Honda Goldwing motorcycle and a Subaru Legacy sedan, sent both drivers to Lehigh Valley hospital for treatment. More than 900,000 people attended Musikfest 2012 to experience the festival's concerts, artisans, food and family fun, Arts Quest™ officials announced.

The nation's largest free music festival, Musikfest took place Aug. 3 through 12, with 515 performances by 318 entertainers on 15 stages.

Community Services for Children's 2012 Children's Ball will be held 6 to 11 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Lehigh Country Club, 2319 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown.

Proceeds will support the "Building a SafeStart for Babies" campaign. The SafeStart program's treatment facility, Donley Family Center for Infants, provides daily therapy for babies who have been abused and neglected. It is the only such treatment program in Pennsylvania.

A Lehigh County DUI Task Force checkpoint was conducted 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. Aug. 10 and netted 13 impaired drivers in the 1600 block of Broadway, along the Fountain Hill – Salisbury traffic corridor.

The checkpoint was set up in the 1600 block of Broadway and was staffed with police officers from multiple surrounding departments, Salisbury Police Department Traffic Officer Bryan Losagio said.
