Nevaeh L. Beers, 6, of Salisbury Township, died August 3, 2012. She was the daughter of Charles Beers and Curelle Lee.
Virginia R. Schaffer, 87, of Macungie, died August 4, 2012. She was the wife of the late Paul W. Schaffer. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Henry and Eleanor Brown.
She is survived by three siblings, loving friends.
Graveside services were held at Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem.
Hunter David Bremmer, 31, of Hatfield, formerly of the Lehigh Valley, died July 27, 2012, in Hatfield. Born in Allentown, he was the son of David E. Bremmer, of Macungie, and Mary-Susan (Sebring) Lesster, of Allentown.
He was a 2000 graduate of Emmaus High School. He earned an associate's degree in electrical technology from Lehigh Carbon Community College in Dec. 2011.
He was the property manager of Heritage Village, Hatfield, apartment complex.
Kermit K. Gehman, 93, of Whitehall, formerly of Emmaus, died August 7, 2012, in Fellowship Manor. He was the husband of the late Joyce (Leibert) Gehman. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of the late William A. and Florence (Yost) Gehman.
He was the secretary-treasurer of the former Wm. A. Gehman Sons Chrysler Plymouth.
Paul Hertl, 86, of Lower Macungie, died August 7, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Evelyn (Turley) Hertl for 4.5 years. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he was the son of the late Robert and Claire (Kornfeld) Hartl.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, during World War II.
He worked as a sales rep. for Atlas Minerals and Chemicals in Mertztown for many years, until retiring.
He was an advocate for no smoking. He volunteered for Smoke Free L.V. and also for the Cancer Society.
Ruthann Schaeffer, 73, of Old Zions-ville, died peacefully, surrounded by her family August 7, 2012, in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of Carl F. Schaeffer. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage March 29. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Viola (Shankweiler) David.
She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville, and was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1956, where she was in the color guard.
Larry L. DeLabar, 82, of Emmaus, died August 5, 2012, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of June C. (Henry) DeLabar. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary Jan. 1, 2012. Born in Breinigsville, he was the son of the late Raymond C. and Anna M. (Best) DeLabar.
He worked as a parts manager for DeLabar Chevrolet and in parts at Emmaus Ford and Vinart for many years, retiring in 2001.
He was a member of Lehigh Lodge #326 F&AM and also Lehigh Consistory.
He loved going to Jake's Flea Market and Das Awkscht Fescht in Macungie.
Joyce Althea Miller, 78, of Emmaus, died August 7, 2012. She was the wife of Richard H. Miller. They were married for 58 years Sept. 19, 2011. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late William Albert and Rosa Mary (McClellan) Antrim.
She worked for Bally Case and Cooler and Bally International Structures for 34 years and five years at RUS Rental Uniform.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus and their P.O.F. group and WELCA.
She was a member of Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary and Emmaus Senior Citizens.
Kathryn Grady Stephanoff, 83, died August 8, 2012. She was the wife of the late Robert Stephanoff. Born in Boston, Mass., she was acknowledged and greatly admired as an outstanding community leader. In her role as the director of the Allentown Public Library, the library became one of the showcases for Pennsylvania libraries. She understood and profoundly believed in the importance of public libraries to cities and communities and worked tirelessly, eloquently and effectively to promote them and bring them to the attention of society.
Margaret Sherman Nester, 83, of Emmaus, died Aug. 4, 2012. She was the wife of the late Joseph Sherman and the late Linwood Nester. She was the daughter of the late George and Catherine (Cahill) Jones.
She worked as a cafeteria supervisor at Lehigh Valley Hospital until retiring.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.
