Peter P. Kuzma, 82, of Allentown, died Nov. 12, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice. He was the companion of Lucy Hess for the past 30 years. Born in Emaus, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Kostura) Kuzma.

He was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel and owned Peter Kuzma Paving for 50 years.

He graduated from Emmaus High School in 1949.

He was a life member of the Mercantile Club.

He honorably served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.

Joseph F. Tercha Jr., 80, of Macungie, died Nov. 18, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Anne (Cadden) Tercha. They celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 11. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Joseph F. Tercha Sr. and the late Jane (Sewards) Tercha.

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1951. He attended Penn State University Extension before entering the U.S. Navy, where he served in the Air Branch as a photographer.

Emmaus H.S. graduate

Eric D. "Ernie" Leiser, 55, of Macungie, formerly of Emmaus, died Nov. 15, 2013, after a courageous battle fighting cancer, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a son of the late Janice and Harold Leiser.

He graduated from Emmaus High School in 1975.

He dedicated his entire career to AP Houser Construction.

His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, gardening and canning. His unique storytelling abilities will be missed by all.

Ruth H. Deibert, 86, of Allentown, formerly of Wescosville, died Nov. 15, 2013, in Luther Crest Health Care Center. Born in Wescosville, she was a daughter of the late Dr. George S. and Helen R. (Schoenly) Deibert.

She served as an executive secretary for the Lehigh Portland Cement Company for 40 years, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Trexlertown.

She is survived by a sister, Sara Lorrah, of Easley, S.C.; brother, Charles and his wife Marilyn, of Reedsville, Mifflin County; nieces and nephews.

Miriam E. Hinkel, 95, formerly of Salisbury Township, died Nov. 13, 2013, in the Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Norman E. Hinkel who died Sept. 18, 1995. Born in Lower Macungie Township, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Laura E. (Miller) Weaver.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

She was a key punch operator at Mack Trucks for many years.

John Witter Stewart, 73, of Macungie, died Oct. 14, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Hallie (Macdonald) Stewart. They would have been married for 50 years in November. Born in Boston, Mass., he was the son of the late John Alexander Stewart and Marion Lee (Witter) Stewart.

He graduated from Lexington High School and attended Kents Hill Preparatory School in Maine post graduate. He attended Saint Lawrence University, Canton, N.Y., where he played ice hockey.

Thomas G. Ryder, 81, a resident of Country Meadows, Allentown for the past year, and previously of Lower Macungie Township since 1976, died Nov. 15, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia (Peters) Ryder, with whom he recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was a son of Helen (Nicholls) and Thomas A. Ryder.

He held a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Engineering of the University of Notre Dame. He also held a Juris Doctorate from the University of Notre Dame's Law School.

Althea M. Fegley, 88, formerly of Emmaus, died Nov. 15, 2013, at Columbia Cottage in Collegeville, Montgomery County. She was the wife of the late Burton H. Fegley who died May 30, 1995. Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late George and Martha (Greenawald) Deibert.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbra J. and her husband James Rotenberger; son, Jeffrey L. and his wife Barbara; three grandsons.
