Fay M. Gross, 85, of Emmaus, died June 30, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Peter G. Gross, Sr. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late Paul T. and Margaret (McClellen) Hallman.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus and was a graduate of Emmaus High School, Class of 1946.
She was employed by the Emmaus Public Library for several years until retiring and had continued to volunteer at the library following her retirement.
Michael D. Sicher, 56, of Emmaus, died July 22, 2014, in Greenleaf Nursing and Convalescent, Inc., Doylestown, where he resided for the last 10 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Lucille M. (Herman) Sicher, of Emmaus and the late Quinton J. Sicher.
He was a member of St. John's U.C.C., Emmaus and was a longtime participant of the SPARC program.
Robert B. Grant, 66, of Macungie, died July 24, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the companion of Linda Henn for the past 18 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George J. and Sara E. (Harned) Grant.
He worked as an oil truck driver and technician for Petroleum Heating and other various companies.
He was a member of the Mercantile Club, Citizens Fire Co. #2 Emmaus and the Macungie VFW.
Lynn Novick Scheitrum, 58, of Mac-ungie, died in her home July 23, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Carl Scheitrum and daughter of Doris Novick.
She was a graduate of Lehigh University with an MBA (1982) and spent 32 years helping to shape lives at Air Products & Chemicals, also serving as a leader at Skills USA, a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to build a skilled American workforce.
Joyce L. Bortz, 89, of Emmaus, died July 1, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Elden W. Bortz. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Oscar R. and H. Arline (Wenner) Hamsher.
She was a homemaker and former member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
The Rev. James H. Fisher, 78, of Salisbury Township and formerly of Berwyn, died July 15, 2014. He was the husband of Elissa L. Fisher for 58 years. Born in Rochester, he was a son of Mary Annette Wallace and Howard Delbert Fisher.
He graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor of arts degree in history. He then attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, where he earned a master's degree in divinity.
Joseph R. Zongora, III, 73, of Bethlehem, died peacefully July 2, 2014. He was the husband of Jeanne (Zelko) Zongora, who died June 7, 2014. They were married for 52 years. Born in Fountain Hill, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Scarola) Zongora.
He graduated from William Allen High School in 1959 and retired from Bell Telephone/Verizon in 2002.
He is survived by sons, Joseph and his wife Dawn, Richard, Chad; daughter, Claudette and her husband Robert Romig; two grandchildren, Joseph V. and Gianna; brother, Ronald; sister, Donna.
Constance L. Williams, 65, of Coopersburg, died July 24, 2014, in her home. She was the wife of Donald S. Williams for 41 years. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of Jean (Yarnall) LaLonde of Media and the late Walter L. LaLonde.
She earned an associate degree in business from Goldie Beacom Jr. College.
She was a church administrator at St. John's U.C.C., Emmaus and then at St. James Lutheran Church, Coopersburg, for a total of 35 years.
She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Coopersburg.
Lori A. Herczeg, 47, of Allentown, died July 18, 2014, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of Allen W. Herczeg. They were married for 22 years last September. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of Kay A. (Sterner) Kern, of Bethlehem and the late Robert L. Kern, Sr.
She was an ATM coordinator for the Allentown Municipal Credit Union for 28 years.
She was a graduate of Dieruff High School, Class of 1984.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Irvin "Moon" C. Washburn, 88, of Salisbury Township, died July 28, 2014, at his residence. He was the husband of Diane W. (Wert) Washburn for 58 years. Born in Sellersville, he was a son of the late George H. and Sadie A. (Loughridge) Washburn.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a garage man for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years until retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Macungie Memorial VFW Post 9264 and the Mercantile Club, Emmaus.
