Edward Lee Hearn, 92, of Macungie, died July 3, 2014, in Lehigh Center. He was the husband of the late Betty (Generose) Hearn. Born in John Y, W. Va., he was the son of the late John and Myrtle (Kisner) Hearn.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II.

He was a founding member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

He retired from Western Electric/AT&T after 32 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of IBEW, a member of the AT&T Telephone Pioneers and the MORA Club.

Francis W. Jacob

Francis (Penny) W. Jacob, 94, of Macungie, died July 11, 2014, in his home. He was the husband of the late Evelyn A. (Butz) Jacob. Born in East Greenville, he was a son of the late Frank and Annie (Brey) Jacob.

Before retiring in 1982, he worked as a lineman for Exide Battery, Allentown and prior at East Penn Foundry, Macungie.

He was a dedicated member of Calvary U.C.C., Barto, where he was active with many committees.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a lifetime member of Macungie Fire Co. #1 and the Macungie VFW.

Joseph A. Pavlick, 42, of Macungie, died July 8, 2014, in Allentown. He was the son of Bernard J. Pavlick and Sally M. (Kostic) Pavlick of Lower Macungie Township.

He is survived by his parents; children, Shawna and Zachary; sister, Gayle Wagner and companion Carl Timmcke, of Emmaus; brother, Bernard Jr., of Mohrsville; a niece and three nephews. He was predeceased by a brother James.

He was a self-employed carpenter.

He is survived by a son, Aaron J., of Catasauqua; daughter, Cody E. Sehar, of Wescosville; brother, Allen G., of Trexlertown; sister, Sandra L. Bare, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; granddaughter, Bella; nephews, Joshua Bare and Justin Hood, former wife Priscilla.

Judi (Nonnemacher) Goff, 64, of McCormick, N.C., formerly of Emmaus, died one day short of her 65th birthday. She was the wife of Belton Goff. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Harvey J. and Christine (Roth) Nonnemacher.

She graduated from Emmaus High School and Penn State University with a master's degree in social work.

Being part of a large family meant everything to her. She loved the ocean, and we know she has found her beach and she sits, watching the sunsets and waiting for us all to join her in Eternity.

Lt. Col. Frank J. Slivka, 96, of Emmaus, died July 8, 2014, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of the late Mary (Haberchak) Slivka. Born in Nesquehoning, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Basala) Slivka.

He retired from the U.S. Army and also served in the Army Reserves National Guard, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He was in active duty in Europe and Africa during World War II and served domestically during the Korean War to provide mainland defense. He was a graduate of the Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

Audrey May Ebersole

Audrey May Ebersole, 73, died July 12, 2014, in Emmaus Village. She was the wife of the late John Raymond Ebersole and was the companion of Lawrence Foley, of Emmaus. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Eva Pauline (Strohl) Ernst.

She was a clean room technician for Lucent Technologies for over 30 years.

She enjoyed beach vacations in Rehoboth, swimming, boating and skiing. In her younger years she also rode horses. She was an avid bingo player and liked bowling and playing cards.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.

Kathleen M. White

Kathleen M. White, 67, of Wescosville, died July 5, 2014, in her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Paul H. White. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine (Kincaid) Jura.

She was a 1965 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

She worked at Lehigh Valley Hospital for 25 years in the radiology department and 15 years in the Maternal Fetal Medicine Department, retiring in 2012.

She was an avid collector of Longenberger Baskets and quilts.

She worked for Kmart for 35 years and later was a teller for Susquehanna Bank.

She is survived by her mother; brothers, John, David and Michael and his wife Judy; aunt, Delphine Lisi; nieces and nephews.
