Jane C. Willey, 46, of Allentown, died Oct. 4, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Foley) Erb of Allentown and the late Ronald R. Erb.

She was a 1985 graduate of Central Catholic High School and continued her education at King's College, Wilkes Barre, graduating in 1989.

She was a phlebotomist and worked throughout the Lehigh Valley, including the former Allentown Hospital, for several years.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Salisbury Township.

Robert W. Ritter

Robert W. Ritter, 82, of Lower Saucon Twp. and formerly of Center Valley, died Oct. 3, 2013, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp. He was the husband of Faye J. (Deily) Ritter for 62 years. Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late William T. and Cora L. (Kale) Ritter.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was the coordinator for research and development and managed the hazardous waste disposal program at Air Products and Chemicals, Trexlertown, for 41 years until his retirement.

He was a former member of St. Paul's "Blue" Church, Coopersburg.

Rose E. Jandrisevitz, 99, formerly of Emmaus and Coplay, died Oct. 2, 2013, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Matjas) Jandrisevitz.

She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus.

She was employed as a housekeeper at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Limeport, for 10 years and then for St. Peter's R.C. Church, Coplay, for 33 years, until retiring.

She is survived by a sister, Angela Saylor; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Kollar; brother, Rudy.

Kenneth Wm. Thomulka, Ph.D., 71, of Allentown, died Sept. 28, 2013, in his residence. Born in Mt. Holly, N.J., he was the son of the late William and Betty (Woods) Thomulka.

He received his bachelor's of science degree in bacteriology from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He attained his master's of science degree and doctorate in microbiology, microbial physiology and microbial genetics from Hahnemann Medical College.

Nevin R. Schantz, 94, of Allentown, died Sept. 17, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Guinther) Schantz. Born in Shimersville, he was the son of the late George H. and Annie H. (Roeder) Schantz.

He was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. of Trexlertown.

He was a millwright for over 16 years for the Carpenters and Joiners of America Union. Prior he worked for Bethlehem Steel and he also farmed.

He was a former officer at the Macungie Grange.

He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, woodworking and attending senior citizens meetings.

Betty J. Amig, 84, of Macungie, died Oct. 6, 2013, in her residence. She was the wife of the late Delbert A. Amig. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Wahl) Snyder.

She retired from the former Clarfert Manufacturing, where she worked for 19 years.

She is survived by a son, Jeff and his wife Donna, of Emmaus; a daughter, Deborah, of Macungie; and two brothers, Gerald F. Snyder and his wife Barbara, of Emmaus, and Donald E. Snyder, of Emmaus.

Donald L. Biever, 83, of Macungie, died Sept. 22, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Kathryn A. (Schaffer) Biever. They were married 49 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Russell and Florence (Erie) Biever.

He served honorably in the United States Army.

He was employed by Aldrich Pump Company as a draftsman and later worked at Mack Trucks.

He enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and constructing buildings for model railroads.

Susan Hanisak, 58, died Sept. 25, 2013, at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, with her loved ones at her side. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Piff) and Richard Snyder.

She graduated from Salisbury High School and was employed for over 20 years at Colonial Pizza House, Easton.

After schooling and training in the medical field, she was employed for the past seven years at St. Luke's University Hospital. She was currently working in the offices of Dr. Bub and Associates, Emmaus.

Ruth I. (Moyer) Huyett-Hertzog, 89, of Emmaus, died peacefully Sept.17, 2013, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Wilmer A. Hertzog. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late John Elmer and Esther Mae (Hollenbach) Moyer.

She was employed with the East Penn School District, retiring in 1986. She later worked for the Borough of Emmaus and also Lower Macungie Township.

She was a member of the Garden Club of Emmaus, the Emmaus Seniors and the Lower Macungie Seniors.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Judith C. Lieberman

Judith C. Lieberman, 93, of Emmaus, formerly of Spring Valley, N.J., died Sept. 30, 2013. She was the wife of the late Marc A. Lieberman, who died in 1985. Born in Jersey City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Miriam (Schwartz) Cohen.

As a community activist, she was the recipient of various awards including the Lehigh Valley Aging Inplace Coalition "Person of the Year" in 2006 as well as the Governor's Citizen Crime Protection Volunteer Recognition Award in 2012.
