Blase J. Pierog, 75, of Emmaus, died Oct. 13, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Snyder) Pierog for the past 58 years. Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late Felix J. and Pauline A. (Matura) Pierog.

He was employed as a laborer in the construction industry until retiring.

He was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus.

Annabel M. Kramer, 85, of Macungie, died October 10, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Russel S. Kramer. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. Zimmerman Sr. and Hattie H. (Ohlinger) Zimmerman.

She was a hairdresser for Ruth's Beauty Shop for 14 years, retiring in 1959.

She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Alburtis, where she served on various committees and as a member of Consistory.

Faye A. George, of Breinigsville, died October 6, 2012. She was the wife of the late Robert W. George. Born in New Tripoli, she was the daughter of Helen (Sittler) Follweiler and the late Elwood W. Follweiler.

She was a 1953 graduate of Slatington High School.

In her early years, she worked for Oram Studio and Hess Brothers as a photo coloration artist.

She was a faithful member of Faith Evangelical Free Church. She actively participated in the senior citizen group at Faith, as well as with the Alburtis Senior Citizens.

Dale James Geist, 61, died September 20, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was the husband of Sandra Geist for 39 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Fred H. Geist and Edith Law Geist.

He was a 1969 graduate of William Allen High School.

He worked for Mack Trucks for 34 years and was a member of the local UAW 677. After retirement he was an employee at Rodale's Working Tree Center for six years.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.

She worked as a sales clerk for the former Stanley Nolin, Hess's Dept. Store and the Old Mill.

She was a former member of the Macungie Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the Emmaus Lioness Club.

She was a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus.

She was a self-employed seamstress for many years.

Dr. Mohamed Eid, DVM, died September 21, 2012. He was the husband of Dr. Awatif Eid, DVM. He was born in Cairo, Egypt.

He earned his DVM from the University of Cairo, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 1967 and immigrated to the United States in 1971 where he cofounded the Muslim Association of the Lehigh Valley and dedicated his life to veterinary medicine.

He is survived by his wife; children, Sherrine, Reem and Sharif, their spouses and six grandchildren.

Rick Walther Hollister

Rick Walther Hollister, 68, of Macungie, died October 5, 2012, after a two year battle with brain cancer. He was the husband of Marilee Elizabeth Skinner Hollister. They were married 44 years last February. He was the son of the late Edwin S. and Elfrieda "Willy" Hollister.

He graduated from Dieruff High School in 1962 as first state champion, first all-American swimmer, attended Annapolis Naval Academy and Bloomsburg State College.

He served on active duty in the U.S. Navy from Feb. 1963 until March, 1967.

Miles E. Bartholomew, 78, formerly of Emmaus, died October 3, 2012, in Gracedale Nursing Home, Upper Nazareth Township. Born in Bethlehem he was the son of the late Kenneth W. and Margaret (Chamberlain) Bartholomew.

He was a Naval veteran serving during the Korean War.

He is survived by daughters, Lisa Golle, Cindy Petrohoy, Jacqueline; and Kristina Miller; brother, Woodrow; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Henry William Rappold Sr., 86, of Lower Macungie Township, died October 4, 2012, in Lehigh Center, Macungie. He was the husband of Jean (Markert) Rappold. They were married for 47 years in June.

He was a partner in the certified public accounting firm of Campbell Rappold & Yurasits, LLP in Allentown from 1951 until retiring in 2000. Born in York, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Hilda (Weber) Rappold.

He was a 1943 graduate of Allentown High School and a 1951 graduate of Penn State University.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.
