Donald Charles Muth, 79, of Zionsville, formerly of Emmaus, died September 25, 2012. He was the husband of the late Dorothy C. (Moyer) Muth, who died May 14, 2002. Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late Merle (Marcks) and Harry Edward Muth.
He was a member of the Emmaus Moravian Church and a member of the Moravian Brass Choir.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was an optician at Art Schneck Optical, Emmaus, for 26 years prior to retiring in Oct. 1998.
Loretta S. Leibensperger, 87, of Emmaus, died September 27, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late William H. Leibensperger for 62 years. She was a daughter of the late Edward and Pauline (Iobst) McElroy.
She was a 1943 graduate of Emmaus High School.
She was a member of Emmaus Moravian Church where she was a member of the Willing Workers-Peanut Gang, Women's Fellowship and 50 Plus.
Robert T. "Pop Pop" Roth, 88, of Alburtis, living in the home he built with the help of family and friends, died September 26, 2012, in the Lehigh Valley Hospice, Allentown, with his family and friends by his side. He was the husband of Hope V. (Tews) Roth for 57 years. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Truman and Hilda (Stephens) Roth.
He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Allentown.
He proudly served in both the U.S. Army and Air Corps during World War II in the Midwest and Alaska.
Mary A. Whitehead, 91, of Macungie, formerly of South Allentown, died September 22, 2012, in the home of her daughter and son-in-law Claudia and Frank S. Samer Jr. She was the wife of the late Claude F. "Pep" Whitehead who died in 2004. Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Renorth and Eva P. (Brennan) Piaia.
She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown.
Joan Ellen Baker, 67, a 35-year resident of San Francisco, Calif., formerly of Emmaus, died September 28, 2012, in St. Francis Pavilion, Daly City, Calif. She was the companion of Michael Monahan for 25 years. Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of Ruth T. (Trump) Baker and the late Thomas E. Baker.
She was a graduate of Muhlenberg College and Boston University.
She was a musician, teaching piano and organ and served as a church organist.
She was a member of the American Guild of Organists.
Dr. Thomas Weir Wallace, of Lower Macungie, died Sept. 20, 2012, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marion (Evans) Wallace for 48 years. Born in Yeadon, he was the son of the late William G. and Catharine Lydia (Weir) Wallace.
Daniel L. Dulin, 31, of Zionsville, died Sept. 19, 2012. He was the son of Catherine (Heatley) Sechler and Michael Sechler of Allentown and the late Dolphus (Bud) Dulin.
He was a 1999 graduate of Emmaus High School and a 2007 graduate of the Welder Training and Testing Institute, Allentown.
He worked as a welder for Lehigh University and Samuel Adams and also worked in construction.
He was a BMX bike rider, artist, singer "Set the Form" band, participated in EYA wrestling and football and Emmaus Jr. High football.
Nathan A. Burkit, 52, of Zions-ville, died September 22, 2012, in St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill. Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was the son of William and Katie (Aides) Burkit of Fountain Hill.
He graduated from Liberty High School, Class of 1977, as well as achieving undergraduate credits throughout his career in secondary education. After graduation, he became an entrepreneur with his own construction company for 20 plus years. Later, he became a teacher for Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, where he taught three levels of carpentry.
Pauline (Lentz) Herring, 85, of Allentown, died September 24, 2012, in Manor Care, Allentown. She was the wife of Sherwood C. Herring. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in March 2012. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Frederick P. and Helen (Kline) Lentz.
She was a 1945 graduate of Allentown High School.
She worked for Bell Telephone, as a cashier for the former Almart and Leh's Department Store.
She was vice president of Sherwood Herring Signs, Emmaus, retiring in 1998.
Linda J. Rohrbach, 63, of Wescosville, died suddenly on September 20, 2012, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. She was the wife of Edward C. Rohrbach Sr., They celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary Sept. 24. Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Maynard C. and Lillian A. (Fetherman) Nickum.
She was a 1967 graduate of Lower Saucon High School, later receiving a diploma from Allentown Business School.
She retired from HCSC in 2003.
She was a Girl Scout and also a life member of the Fearless Fire Co., Allentown.
