Veronica Sue Holben, 71, of Salisbury Township, died June 9, 2019, at home. She was the wife of Thomas J. Holben, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late William C. and Dorothy M. (Newhard) Albitz.
Before retiring, she was a teacher aide at Western Salisbury Elementary School.
She enjoyed listening to various audio books, especially mysteries and watching the Nickelodeon channel with her grandchildren.
Paul T. Kline Sr., 88, of Salisbury Township, died June 7, 2019, in St. Luke’s Hospice House. He was the husband of the late Betty J. (Bachman) Kline, who died in 2014. Born in Salisbury Township, he was the son of the late John and Edna Mae (Hittinger) Kline.
He was a graduate of Fountain Hill High School.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a medic in Germany.
He worked as a die sinker at Bethlehem Steel/Beth Forge for 40 years.
Robert L. Fox, 81, of Alburtis, died June 3, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospice. He was the husband of Mary Jane (Bauder) Fox. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary May 30. Born in Hickory Township, N.C., he was a son of the late Troy L. and Vannie Marie (Brown) Fox.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus.
He worked on the assembly line at Mack Trucks for 30 years and was a truck driver for National Freight from 2002 to 2012.
He was a member of Local 677 UAW and the Alburtis Rod and Gun Club.
Priscilla E. (Brahler) Alderfer, 91, of Emmaus, died June 1, 2019, in Mosser Nursing Home, Trexlertown. She was the wife of the late James H. Alderfer. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Warren S. and Edna E. (Guth) Brahler.
She worked as a telephone operator for the former Emaus Telephone Company, Hess’s and Zollinger’s department stores, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus.
Andrew E. Beible III, 81, formerly of Emmaus, died May 5, 2019, in Deltona, Fla. He was the husband of the late Sandra E. (Miller) Beible. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Kathryn (Arnold) and Andrew E. Beible Jr.
He owned and operated Beible’s Pump and Supply Company, Emmaus, for many years.
He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus.
He was a member and past master of Emmaus Lodge #792 F&AM and served in the Army Reserves.
Roy E. Semprini, 99, of Emmaus, died June 2, 2019, in Lehigh Center. He was the husband of the late Bernadine A. (Matura) Semprini. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frank and F. Irene (Kratzer) Semprini.
He was an insurance agent for the former Home Life Insurance Company for many years, retiring in 1982.
He honorably and faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Prisoner Of War.
He was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Disabled American Veterans.
Richard E. Danner II, 61, of East Texas, died May 29, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Dorene K. “Dori” (Clemens) Danner. They celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary April 12. Born in Allentown, he was a son of Emily A. (Lehr) Danner and the late Richard E. Danner.
He was a self-employed HVAC technician and owner of DNR Enterprises and worked for Werley Heating & Air Conditioning and Darway Elder Care in Hillsgrove.
He was a member of Steel City Mennonite Church, Bethlehem.
Larry L. Marks, 77, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Emmaus, died May 14, 2019. He was the husband of Anne L. Marks. They would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary June 4.
He is survived by Terri, wife of William Dorney, of New Tripoli, Jeffrey and his fiancé Marlo Nosal, of Alburtis, Kenneth, Joann and her husband, Charles Koenig, Timothy and his wife, April, of Fort Myers, Fla.
A memorial service is scheduled 1 p.m. July 20 at the Emmaus Community Park Performing Arts pavilion (bandshell).
Harold A. Sell, 85, of Macungie, formerly of Emmaus, died May 28, 2019. He was the loving husband of Dolores J. (Houseknecht) Sell for the past 66 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harold and Annie (Leiser) Sell.
He retired from Bethlehem Steel Saucon shipping yard after 33 years. He previously worked for his father as a landscaper.
He proudly served his country in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 13 years.
Edna G. (Peters) Diehl, 83, of Genesee, Potter County, formerly of Macungie, died May 27, 2019, in the home of her granddaughter, Jennifer K. Cook. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Diehl who died last October. Born in Breinigsville, she was the daughter of the late Levi B. Sr. and Ida M. (Sherer) Peters.
She was employed as a sewing machine operator for various textile mills in Emmaus for 37 years , retiring in 1992.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fogelsville.
