Students experience

Students at Salisbury High School were given the opportunity to experience distracted driving firsthand recently at the school.

Lehigh Valley Health Network, the Center for Humanistic Change, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Western Salisbury Fire Department, the Salisbury Township Police Department and the North Central Highway Safety Network participated in the event for students.

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I am a senior this year at Salisbury High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: English is currently my favorite subject in school, but I also love any class that involves music.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: I am a member of National Honor Society and I have received the Collaborative Leadership Award for coordinating our blood drives. I was nominated for a Freddy Award and am very excited about it!

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

Graduate completes basic training


U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Alec P. Ressler, of Allentown, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas, in recent ceremonies.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
