David looking to anchor Bloom D

When Tony David was being looked at by the Bloomsburg University football team nearly two years ago, the Huskies recruited him as a linebacker coming out of Salisbury High School.

During his years as a Falcon, David saw playing time as a linebacker and defensive end, while playing the tight end position on the offensive side of the ball.

After seeing time at both linebacker and tight end for the Huskies last year, David is now eager to get back to his ways on the defensive line...

The tragedy that engulfed the Philadelphia Eagles organization Sunday morning was one of shock and sadness with the sudden death of Garrett Reid.

The 29-year-old son of head coach Andy Reid was found unresponsive in a Lehigh University dorm room at 7:20 am Sunday when he was found by an Eagles official.

The aftermath and questions that remain are now part of the puzzle that the Reid family, Eagles organization and fans seek in the wake of a family tragedy.


Tatum wins school's first PIAA swim gold

Several months have passed since Eric Tatum became the first Salisbury swimmer to win a state gold medal.

But in a school year of many accomplishments for the Falcon athletic program, none shined brighter that Tatum's winning swim in 100 yard butterfly in the pool at Bucknell in March.

For his efforts, the senior-to-be is the Salisbury Press Male Athlete of the Year.

Hrebik follows in sisters footsteps

The game of basketball has been a part of the Hrebik family for a couple of generations now.

Megan Hrebik's mother, Lori, played basketball at Allen High School and Kutztown University, while her sister, Caitlin, was a 2010 graduate and 1,000-point scorer for Salisbury. She was also a two-time Salisbury Press Athlete of the Year.

Now Megan, the senior to-be and 2012 Salisbury Press Female Athlete of the Year, is following in the footsteps of her mother and older sister.
